From the shy new girl to being chosen by her classmates to represent them—this is Nova's story.
A Little Girl Finding Her Place
When Nova-Jean came to E.B. Ellington last year, she was the new girl—and she was shy. Finding your place in a new school can take time, but little by little, Nova came out of her shell, made friends, and found a community where she felt like she belonged.
Then something pretty special happened.
This year, Nova's classmates chose her to represent their class in the 2026 Mr. & Miss E.B. Ellington Pageant.
For a little girl who started out as the shy new kid, being chosen by her own classmates meant something much bigger than a sash or a crown. They chose her. 💗
Now She Has a BIG Job
The Mr. & Miss E.B. Ellington Pageant isn't only a pageant—it's the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year.
From October 1 through November 19, Nova is working toward a $7,000 fundraising goal for E.B. Ellington. Every dollar she raises through her campaign benefits her school through the PTA.
That means lemonade stands, bake sales, community events, sponsorships, donations, a silent auction, a breakfast fundraiser—and probably a whole lot of pink along the way.

More Than Winning a Crown
Of course Nova would be thrilled to become Miss E.B. Ellington. 👑
But somewhere along the way, this became about more than winning.
It became an opportunity to show Nova what can happen when a family, a school, local businesses, friends, neighbors, and an entire community get behind one little girl trying to do something BIG for her school.
When Nova looks back on this experience, we hope she remembers more than the pageant. We hope she remembers every person who showed up, donated, shared her story, bought a cupcake, sponsored her campaign, or simply told her, "We believe in you."
